About Us

Hi, and welcome to JLG & Co., your online parts and information source for vintage Ford tractors! JLG & Co., has been providing quality parts and restoration services at it’s retail location in Topeka Kansas since 1988. Family owned and operated by Johnny Grist, his lovely wife Linda and their beautiful daughter Tammi, together with the amazing team here at the shop they’ve provided parts and service for thousands of 2N’s, 9N’s, 8N’s and Jubilees along with dozens of other makes and models ranging from the early Massey Ferguson TO’s to todays late model Fords.

Johnny first discovered old Ford tractors at a young age while working side by side with his father around the family farm. Before long his household chore became a passion for old tractors that developed into a lifelong fascination. It wasn’t long before Johnny began collecting old Fords and performing repair and restoration work for himself and other local farmers and enthusiasts. In 1988 Johnny finally took the plunge, moving out of his workshop in the barn and officially opening South Topeka Service Complex Inc. at 4700 S. Topeka Blvd., in Topeka Kansas. Since then he has been featured in Successful Farming Magazine, and the books Ford N Series Tractors by: Rod Beemer & Chester Peterson and How To Restore Classic Farm Tractors by: Tharran E. Gaines. He’s also garnered numerous awards and prizes at tractor shows and competitions for his work and has become known as "the man to talk to” when it comes to Ford tractors.

We are pleased and proud to present our online version of South Topeka Service Complex and hope that you will enjoy your shopping experience! With over 45 years of experience and more than 2,000 available parts including new, used and many hard to find or discontinued parts, how can you go wrong?  JLG & Co. is your one stop shopping source for 9N, 2N, 8N and NAA (Jubilee) parts, information and service.

 Meet The Team...

Tammi at her desk
Tammi and Linda - we had to put them together 'cause they're such a great team! (Linda wouldn't let us take a candid photo of her though.) Friendly and knowledgeable they answer the questions that stump the rest of us, keep everything running smoothly and insure that things get done. They ARE the oil in the machine.
Billy in the shop
Billy - Obsessed with Harley's and finding the perfect shade of "ford red". Billy's been doing restoration work and providing comic relief here at the shop for 16 years (give or take a week or two). And while we love to give him a hard time, no one turns out a better lookin' tractor. His painstaking attention to detail , eye for color, and steady hand can be seen on some of the most beautiful show tractors around.
Tim in the shop
Tim - shop foreman and all-round go to guy. Even more obsessed with Harley's than Billy, Tim's the guy who keeps us calm when things get hectic. He spent 20 years working on engines for the military before he decided retirement just wouldn't be his thing and came to join us at the shop. We have to admit that his first love is 2-cycle engines but he's still a heck of a mechanic.
Mike
Mike - like Billy and Tim Mike is a motorcycle nut. (It must have something to do with big engines and loads of power.) Anyway, he's our guy for some of the really thorny engine questions. There's no doubt his passion is working on the go-karts and mini-bikes that make their way to us, but he'll still settle in with a hot cup of coffee and work on something bigger when he gets a chance.
Thomas
Thomas - all round great guy and shop mechanic. The most cheerful guy you'll ever meet, Thomas was born with an unerring compass in his head and an amazing memory. It's why Johnny and Linda put him in charge of deliveries, he never gets lost and it's guaranteed the first thing you'll see when we pick up your tractor is a cheerful grin.
Rick
Rick - radiator specialist extraordinaire. Rick's been racing cars and doing radiator repair longer than most people have been alive. We're not sure what else he does, but we're glad he decided to join us here at the shop - 'cause he really is just about the best radiator repair guy in the business.
Jennie
Jennie - we're not sure what she actually does all day, but she hums a lot and people seem to like that. She can usually be found cleaning up after Johnny, answering the phones or chatting at the counter with a customer.
